High School Innovation Challenge
Beyond Agriculture
In 2023, we sponsored the inaugural ‘Beyond Agriculture’ Innovation Challenge at James Ruse Agricultural High School, which is an initiative of their alumni-run foundation. Through this sponsorship we delivered:
A full-day ‘bootcamp’ incursion with a YW team of three, including modules on design thinking and startup pitching, for over 50 students
Extensive support to the organising committee covering program design, student/mentor engagement, and data management via Airtable
1 x Zoom mentor briefing for industry experts volunteering to guide teams through the program
2 x in person student workshops for participants on how to approach designing a pitch and making use of their mentor sessions
Judging criteria, worksheet and assistance in running the final pitch event
Youth pitching competition
Spark Tank 2023
In 2023, we sponsored Share the Spark (a registered charity) with their Spark Tank startup ideation and pitching competition on the Northern Beaches, for students ranging from upper primary to upper secondary. As part of our sponsorship, we delivered:
2 x 1.5 hour online pitching workshops stepping students through how to generate as much traction as possible and present persuasively at the Awards Night
12 x 30 minute 1:1 pitch coaching sessions with James (2 for each of the 6 finalist teams)
Future Health Worldbuilding Competition
New South Wales Health
The Future Health Worldbuilding Competition was an exciting, free competition open to young people in Years 7 – 10 in NSW. It provided students the opportunity to dive into these megatrends that are expected to shape the future of healthcare in NSW and produce a creative vision of the future. Prizes included an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour at our largest innovation centre and workshops with health professionals. As part of our sponsorship we delivered a professionally shot and edited video recap.
Tailored Speaking Experience
Step4Schools
Developed in consultation with educators, students, and parents, Step4Schools is a flexible, engaging school fundraising initiative run by the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Through active challenges, games, and fundraising activities, students of all abilities can get involved while exploring themes of wellbeing, inclusion, and supporting others. Every step helps raise funds to support babies with cerebral palsy and their families.
Young Wisdom is proud to support Step4Schools by offering the winning school a tailored speaker experience valued at $3,300. The prize includes three 1-hour careers, entrepreneurship or life story talks delivered by one of Young Wisdom's experienced team members and speakers from our Speakers Bureau.
